Week Two: Truck Diesel Prices Continue Downward Trek

For a second consecutive week, diesel prices in all regions of the country were on a downhill march, with the average price declining two and a half cents to $2.884 per gallon, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration.

The biggest declines were in California, where prices dropped an average 3.2 cents per gallon, although at $3.217 per gallon, the Golden State still has the highest diesel prices in the nation. The lowest prices for a gallon of diesel were recorded in the Midwest where diesel cost an average $2.774 per gallon.

East Coast: $3.001 last week, $2.980 this week

New England: $3.092 last week, $3.076 this week

Central Atlantic: $3.143 last week, $3.122 this week

Lower Atlantic: $2.874 last week, $2.853 this week

Midwest: $2.804 last week, $2.774 this week

Gulf Coast: $2.799 last week, $2.783 this week

Rocky Mountains: $2.835 last week, $2.825 this week

California: $3.249 last week, $3.217 this week.
