Without exception, diesel prices were down in all regions of the nation again last week, with the average price per gallon at $2.514, according to figures released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration.
Overall, prices have declined $1.30 per gallon since a year ago last week, with truck stops in the Gulf Coast states touting the cheapest prices: an average $2.376 per gallon.
California prices — at an average $2.851 per gallon — were the most expensive in the nation, but even those steep prices were $1.23 less than a year ago.

East Coast: $2.647 last week, $2.590 this week
New England: $2.739 last week, $2.673 this week
Central Atlantic: $2.777 last week, $2.714 this week
Lower Atlantic: $2.529 last week, $2.478 this week
Midwest: $2.487 last week, $2.443 this week
Gulf Coast: $2.414 last week, $2.376 this week
Rocky Mountains: $2.592 last week, $2.562 this week
California: $2.894 last week, $2.851 this week.
