The Truckload Carriers Association (TCA), and CarriersEdge of Markham, Ontario, have selected Bay & Bay Transportation of Rosemount, Minn., as one of 20 North American trucking companies to the “2015 Best Fleets to Drive For” list.
The seventh annual survey and contest identifies for-hire trucking companies that provide the best workplace experiences for their drivers. Bay & Bay is the only Minnesota company chosen.
Sam Anderson, president and CEO of Bay & Bay, said the recognition, “confirms to our current and prospective drivers that we have something special, and that we’ll continue our deep focus on taking care of them.”
To be considered for the Best Fleets program, a company operating 10 trucks or more had to be nominated by one of its company drivers or owner operators. CarriersEdge then interviewed human resources representatives and executives of the nominated fleets about their corporate direction, policies and programs. Nominated fleets were evaluated against a scoring matrix covering a variety of categories, such as:
Total compensation, health benefits, pension plans, training, advancement opportunities, team building, and annual turnover rate, among other categories.
A selection of each fleet’s drivers was also surveyed, with their feedback compared to management’s and incorporated into the final score.
All top 20 fleets, including Bay & Bay, will be recognized at the TCA Annual Convention next month in Orlando, Fla. TCA will give two additional honors to the top trucking companies by category for owner operator and company driver.
