Murphy-Hoffman Co. (MHC), a truck dealership group, has acquired five dealerships, formerly operated by R. L. French Corp. in Des Moines and Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Omaha and Lincoln, Neb.; and Rock Island, Ill.
These five locations, and the addition of 200 employees, will enhance MHC’s current footprint and its ability to service and support its truck fleet customers throughout the Midwest.
The newly acquired locations sell new Kenworth trucks, side dump trailers, and offer used truck sales, parts and service for all makes and models. MHC also offers capabilities of online parts ordering and service scheduling with proprietary products like RoadPulse to its new customers.
At the initial announcement of the acquisition, MHC CEO Tim Murphy said: “When we introduced ourselves to R. L. French Corp.’s employees, we met with many talented and tenured individuals that we are happy to have joining our team. We look forward to servicing customers throughout the expanded MHC network and supporting them with the award-winning services we have been providing for 40 years.”
Located across 16 states, MHC is a network of more than 100 locations, including 66 heavy- and medium-duty truck dealers, 35 MHC Truck Leasing locations, four Carrier Transicold locations and a wholly-owned finance company, MHC Financial Services.
MHC features Kenworth, Hino, Ford, Volvo and Isuzu trucks. Through its formal quality program, MHC delivers excellent service to its customers and maintains ISO 9001 certification.
