GATS Begins 3-day Run Today; Collects Donations for Flood Victims

This year’s Great American Trucking Show (GATS) gets underway today and runs through Saturday at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas — once again promising dozens of events, educational sessions, and more than a half-million square feet of exhibition space.

Meanwhile, show organizers and trucking companies are collecting and dispersing much-needed supplies for victims of the storms that dropped more than 30 inches of rain in a 15-hour period in parts of Louisiana.

Organizers are asking GATS visitors to bring canned goods, bottled water, personal hygiene items, clothing and cleaning supplies. A tractor-trailer donated by Cummins will be on site for contributions. It will be located in lot “E” behind the convention center, which can be entered off Memorial Drive.

With 500-plus exhibitors representing the top companies in the trucking industry, GATS will host more than 54,000 registered trucking professionals who will be attending from across the country and globe.

Among the exciting events scheduled for this year include Overdrive’s Pride and Polish Truck Beauty Competition, educational seminars, the Commercial Vehicle Outlook Conference, exhibits from leaders in the heavy duty trucking industry and much more. GATS also offers a Recruiting Pavilion and Hard Working Trucks Pavilion.

Named among the most promoted shows in trucking, GATS is a must-attend event for those seeking to reach large segments of the industry, including fleet executives, owner-operators, company drivers, contractors, dealers and aftermarket parts and service providers.
