The price for a gallon of diesel fuel rose in all regions of the nation last week, with the notable exception of the New England states, where the price dropped 2.7 cents, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration.
The average price of diesel fuel rose 2.6 cents per gallon nationally, to $2.78 cents per gallon. That figure is still down $1.191 per gallon over a year ago last week.
The biggest increases were seen in the Gulf Coast states where a gallon of diesel rose almost four cents to $2.659. And in California, prices increased 3.1 cents per gallon to $3.102.
