Diesel Fuel Prices Head Upward for Truckers Last Week

The price for a gallon of diesel fuel rose in all regions of the nation last week, with the notable exception of the New England states, where the price dropped 2.7 cents, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration.

The average price of diesel fuel rose 2.6 cents per gallon nationally, to $2.78 cents per gallon. That figure is still down $1.191 per gallon over a year ago last week.

The biggest increases were seen in the Gulf Coast states where a gallon of diesel rose almost four cents to $2.659. And in California, prices increased 3.1 cents per gallon to $3.102.

East Coast: $2.916 last week, $2.926 this week

New England: $3.076 last week, $3.049 this week

Central Atlantic: $3.080 last week, $3.081 this week

Lower Atlantic: $2.759 last week, $2.783 this week

Midwest: $2.633 last week, $2.659 this week

Gulf Coast: $2.620 last week, $2.659 this week

Rocky Mountains: $2.703 last week, $2.713 this week

California: $3.071 last week, $3.102 this week.
