Ryder System Inc., a leader in commercial fleet management and supply chain solutions, has opened a new maintenance facility in California that will provide commercial natural gas and diesel vehicle maintenance for Ryder full-service lease and rental customers, along with mobile maintenance and a 20-minute rental service guarantee.

The facility, which is located in Santa Fe Springs, Calif., is positioned inside one of the Gateway Cities of southeast Los Angeles County, and due to the increased presence of natural gas vehicles in the region, Ryder has engineered the facility to provide natural gas vehicle maintenance.

The facility will feature a full-service rental counter for businesses that are in need of a commercial vehicle. On-site diesel fueling will also be available at the location for Ryder customers. A grand opening event was held at the facility that featured a ribbon cutting ceremony, tours of the facility and, Ryder natural gas vehicle demonstrations.

Dennis Cook, Ryder’s president of Global Fleet Management Solutions, said, “We are happy to provide our customers in the Los Angeles County area with state-of-the-art diesel and natural gas vehicle maintenance services, expert technicians, and a wide selection of the latest commercial rental vehicles.”

Ryder is a leader in natural gas vehicle solutions for the commercial transportation industry, with more than 30 million miles of experience, 14 natural gas vehicle maintenance facilities, and 1,134 natural gas vehicle trained technicians.

Since deploying its natural gas vehicle program in 2011, Ryder has replaced approximately 4.6 million gallons of diesel fuel with lower emission domestically produced natural gas.
