Navistar Inc. has begun shipping its new International TerraStar 4×4 work trucks to customers this month, providing a new addition to the company’s Class 4 through 8 product portfolio.

Launched in 2010 in a 4×2 configuration, the International TerraStar gives work truck buyers a vehicle with a variety of commercial duty features not offered in other work trucks. With the new 4×4 option, the TerraStar shares the same rugged, durable and hardworking ethic as the medium-duty International DuraStar.

The TerraStar 4×4 delivers heavy duty capability for a wide range of customer needs, including construction, utility, emergency, oilfield and other vocational applications. And Navistar says it was designed to last twice as long as competitive models. The TerraStar 4×4 features  frame rail strength of 80,000 psi, a commercial-duty Allison Optimized 1000 Series transmission for maximum power output, a Fabco TC-28 gear-driven transfer case and an  five-year unlimited mile warranty.
